  Malta Base

Medserv Operations Limited was established in 1974 and presently operates from our own private base within the confines of the Malta Freeport.

Our Malta base is fully ISPS compliant and the company is ISO 9001 certified. We operate on a 24/7 basis.

Our Facilities in Malta include:

Medserv owns and operates a 240m private quay at the Malta Freeport, with a quayside working area of 25 metres in width. This area is used as a preparation, lay down and marshalling area for supply vessels.  The Malta quay has a maximum draft of 10 metres and is floodlit to ensure availability of 24-hour operations.  It is also suitable for RoRo vessels.  Additional deep water quayside space is available should it be required.

Malta has a fully equipped quayside bulk plant facility, including compressor room, dehumidifier and stone catcher. Facilities consist of two independent units, one for Cement with a capacity of 250 tons and another for Barite and Bentonite with a capacity of 400 tons.  Each unit has separate cutting tanks.

The cement bulk plant has 3 tanks which are suitable for mixing cement products such as silica cement. The capacity of each silo is approximately 85 tons.

Medserv also operates two completely independent mud plants each capable of mixing and storing 400m³ of mud – oil based or water based and more recently for environmental reasons, synthetic oil based.  An Oil base storage facility of 300m³ is also available.

Besides owning and operating our own plant and equipment, Medserv Malta also has agreements with the leading equipment companies in Malta giving us access to additional large cranes and equipment ranging up to a 450 Manitowoc 4600, having a 500 ton capacity.  Medserv also maintains a stock of specialised offshore container units for hire.  These are fully certified together with appropriate slings.

The Medserv Malta Base occupies a total area of 50,000m2 excluding the quay which extends to an additional 6,500m2. We have a number of warehouses to cater for our clients various needs. Our warehouses have headroom of 6.50 metres. Additional warehouses specifically to cater for large material have a maximum headroom of 9 metres. Total area of warehousing available id 9000 m².

The open laydown area of over 40,000m2 may be used for storage of tubulars, bulky equipment such as anchors, buoys, penants, cable reels, etc

Medserv Malta operates from offices within the base at Malta Freeport.  Our office space consists of 250m² of fully equipped flexible layout offices that are available for rent.
